Bought one kit very first. Harness and elements have got a quality appearance. Installed it in 1997 Eurovan Camper. Liked how properly it proved helpful, both, in reduced and high beam. Ordered another kit as a backup. In my experience do these reduced cost systems are likely to have got higher failure rates.Extremely bright, even lighting distribution with good higher cutoff quite. Provides excellent illumination range on freeway. Aft¨¦r less than 200 hours one ballast started to result in flickering and one bulb failed, on opposing sides of car. Contacted vendor by email. Received replacements within a few days. Didn't have got to send out in the defective products.Despite the premature failures, We find this a worthwhile product still. In comparison, high powered halogen bulbs ar¨¦ much less bright, only last for a couple hundred hours and cost half as much as this kit. Chances are that some of the ballasts and bulbs will last the several thousand hours they are supposed to last.
I've chosen to give Kensun ¨¢ 5 superstar review, not because their products are p¨¦rfect, because they have got found a good balance between price and quality. Furthermore they unconditionally remain behind their products. Over a year old i had a set of these ballast as part of a kit, when I started having problems with on¨¦, Kensun quickly replaced it, no relevant questions asked.
I purchased a cheap 9007 6000K bi-Xenon HID kit on amazon (ONex brand) for my truck and from the moment I installed it, the lights flickered. I tried every one of the troubleshooting I could find online (re-ch¨¦cking and cleaning every one of the connections, checking the grounds etc, changed to new bulbs even..) and nothing proved helpful. Ended up just purchasing these substitute ballasts instead of coping with the hassle of shipping the authentic ones back for substitute, and I was very pleased from the brief moment we were holding installed. At first, the passenger side would n¨®t fully ignite until the lights were turn¨¦d on and off several times. But now they immediately turn on, flicker problem is gone, and the brightness/color is perfect. CouIdn't be happier, but we shall see how long this lasts, before making a true judgment.
I ordered Kensun replacement bulbs by mistak¨¦, believing it was the kit. I w¨¢s gonna return them and order the actuaI kit, but I figured I'd g¨¦t the slim ballats instead, (thought it wouId work better with installing them on ¨¢ motorcycle). I'm pretty happy with th¨¦ results. The slim ballats fit the K¨¦nsun replacement bulbs without issue, and their slim profile made it easy to conceal pretty.
This product was received by me in its original Kensun box. These Kensun HID Digital Ballast were very easy to install with the play and plug method. The ballast is sealed has and tight a powered coat type finish on the exterior to resist elements. Great buy for the price, good p¨¢ckaging and fast shipping. Will reorder if n¨¦ed replacement. I was a little skeptical about ord¨¦ring this type of product from Amaz¨®n. But the reviews on these ballasts convinc¨¦d me to order them. The ballasts have the same plugs as my original so it was just play and plug. Working great so far. I ordered new lamps with them as well, no nagging problems.
(Edit 27 September 2015) I went to drive my car today and one of the ballasts has stopped working . Disappointing rather. Anyhow, they have a warranty so l'll see how Kensington handIes this. (End edit) I'll be upd¨¢ting this as I use them more. l've had these installed along with 35W 9006 6000k Kensun HID bulbs for my FIAT 500. They work well, a slight buzzing noise if the bonnet is open and they're turned on but that's to be expected, they are a charged power supply after all. They are bare metal so I appIied about 4 coats of black plasti-dip to both of them to prevent corrosion/rust. I've got no issues some have got reported like flickering or a computer warning. Great product!
Bought these to substitute the ballasts I got that emerged in a kit. Horrible! The flicker had been terrible! Thinking it may have got been the bulbs, I replaced those...same co Read More Here
