The majority of the reviews I've find out about this album point out it in the context of Bowi¨¦'s experimental Berlin time period (Reduced/Heroes), but I find that is a lot more of a shorthand for stating that he can be defying pop convention, than a genuine similarity in audio to those traditional albums rather. I find anywhere near this much more comparable to Black Tie White Noise, The Buddha ¨®f Suburbia, and bits of 1. Outside. Dark Tie White Sound, specifically has a mixture of jazziness, slickness, and environment, though Blackstar is a lot darker in tone.Starting with the epic name track and relocating through soundscapes which are strange and darkish, nevertheless melodic and quintessentially latterday Bowie yet, finally achieving a glorious bottom line (similar to 1. Outside do) with the beautiful, insistent "I CANNOT Give Everything Aside," Blackstar can be an album that completely expresses what David Bowie is certainly capable of as of this late phase of his profession.
